July 13-14 – “Won’t You Be My Neighbor?” – Weekend Worship Services

Remember the song Fred Rogers used to sing at the start of his children’s show?  “Won’t you please, won’t you please?  Please won’t you be my neighbor?  Hi neighbor!”  The story of the Good Samaritan is one of the most well-known biblical accounts showing the heart of many people as they are met with someone in need.  The story is prefaced by a discussion between Jesus and a lawyer. The lawyer is trying to trip up Jesus, but in His usual fashion, Jesus turns the tables during the discussion.  In the midst of it, the lawyer asks, “And who is my neighbor?”

So what does it mean to love or help a neighbor?  What enters your mind when you see someone in need?  How do your justify your actions?  How far do you go in helping someone?  How far has Jesus, our Good Samaritan, gone in helping you?  Listen-In or Watch, as Pastor Warren tells us how mercy and compassion drive this discussion centered upon love.
