Sometimes a preacher will deliver one of those sermons that is just absolutely inspirational. It will move you and stir something inside of you to be all you can for Jesus. Every once in a while he will find one of those stories that is hilarious. And he will tell that story so everyone will remember it throughout the week. I like that kind of preaching. I enjoy that.
Sometimes a preacher will take a text and try to encourage everyone to keep going and not to bail out on God and not to stop serving Him.

And then sometimes he will take a text like this weekend’s, and just want to pastor people.
Sometimes he finds a verse from the word of God and brings a thought to the people because he knows their mood and condition.

That is all I will be doing for the next three weeks at Immanuel because I know that many people in this community are going through brokenness, loneliness, and discouragement.  They have faced some things recently that were absolutely devastating to them.

So I want to do everything I can for the next three weeks just to be their Pastor. The messages are called In God We Trust. I begin the first week talking about trusting in God when we worry, the second week when we labor and finally, when we give. I hope you’ll join me each week.
