Have you ever experienced when someone is talking to you, and you are trying to listen, but nothing sticks? It may seem like what they are saying is ‘going in one ear and out the other.’ Perhaps other thoughts in your mind are creating a barrier, blocking their words from sinking in. You may have every intention and desire to actually hear what is being said, but something is preventing this from happening. Does the same happen to you during worship? How are you hearing God’s Word?  Does His Word speak directly to you and your present circumstance? Does His Word provide solutions for you, or do the problems in your life choke out its purpose?  God himself said that His Word will go out from His mouth and not return empty, but will accomplish His purpose.
