Jesus tells us that He is the Good Shepherd, and that He is willing to lay down His life for His sheep. He said that "No one takes it from me, but I lay it down on my own accord." This is what Jesus was not only willing to do for you, but actually did it, so that you can receive eternal salvation. Jesus fought for you. He still fights for you. The apostle John also wrote "By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers" Jesus considers you valuable enough to fight for.
