A little child learns to wash his hands before mealtime. Having clean hands is important. But a child of God learns something else too. It’s even more important to have a clean heart. While dirty hands can make us sick, dirty hearts of sin can kill us spiritually! We can wash our hands with soap and water, but only God can make our hearts clean. Jesus took our dirty sins to the cross and washed our hearts clean with His forgiveness. We gather to confess our sins. God speaks His word of forgiveness. Our hearts are clean.
